Spreading Holiday Cheer

At Quality Services, we take great pride in contributing to meaningful community initiatives, and this year, we were thrilled to support the Shop With A Cop program. Recognizing the importance of fostering positive relationships between law enforcement officers and children in need, our company felt compelled to make a difference during the holiday season. Through our commitment to corporate social responsibility, we were able to provide a donation to the program, ensuring that more children in our community could experience the joy of shopping for their families and themselves. It is our belief that by participating in initiatives like Shop With A Cop, we can collectively create a brighter, more inclusive holiday season for all.
The holiday season is a time of joy, warmth, and generosity.

In 2005, several area law enforcement agencies came together to initiate a heartwarming program known as “Shop With A Cop.” This program aims to make the holiday season brighter for economically less fortunate youth and families who have faced tragic events. Let’s delve into the details of this heartwarming initiative that brings smiles to the faces of children in need.

What is Shop With A Cop?

Shop With A Cop is a community-driven program where police officers team up with children facing economic challenges or those who have experienced tragic events. The main event takes place at Walmart, where each child is given the opportunity to shop for their families and choose a special gift for themselves. Beyond the material aspect, the program strives to foster positive relationships between children and law enforcement officers, creating a sense of trust and camaraderie.

Following the shopping spree, participants gather to wrap the purchased presents and enjoy a festive celebration, often featuring a special appearance by Santa Claus. This not only provides a memorable experience for the children but also reinforces the bond between the community and its local law enforcement.

How Are the Children Selected?

The selection process for participants is meticulous and thoughtful. Children are recommended for the program by members of the police department, school employees, and social agencies. To be eligible, a child must have social or economic needs or have experienced a tragic event. Additionally, the child must be a resident of the respective city served by the participating police department and must not have participated in the program in the past.

Law Enforcement Agencies Involved

Several dedicated law enforcement agencies collaborate to make Shop With A Cop a reality. The program is actively supported by the Brillion Police Department, Chilton Police Department, Kiel Police Department, and New Holstein Police Department. Together, these agencies work seamlessly to bring the holiday spirit to those who need it the most.

Sponsorship and Community Support

The success of Shop With A Cop relies heavily on the generosity of the community. Businesses and individuals alike can contribute by becoming sponsors. Donations are accepted throughout the year, and checks can be made payable to “Shop With A Cop.” This financial support ensures that the program continues to thrive, bringing joy and a sense of community to those who may be struggling during the holiday season.

If you wish to contribute to this heartwarming cause, donations can be sent to the City of Kiel Police Department, Attention – Shop With A Cop Program, P.O. Box 98, Kiel, WI 53042.

In the true spirit of the season, Shop With A Cop exemplifies the power of community collaboration, compassion, and the ability to make a positive impact on the lives of those facing adversity. Through this program, the holiday season becomes a time of giving, connection, and, most importantly, spreading joy to the hearts of children in need.
